The hotel is located a little away from the centre of tourism but not too far to walk. Facilities were acceptable given the age of the hotel, staff were friendly and helpful. Did not use the restaurant as it was closed.

Hotel is has a dated decor but the location and service makes up for any lack of style.

We have travelled to Boston for the past three years and must say Midtown Hotel was the most comfortable hotel we have stayed in. The staff were very friendly and the upkeep of the hotel cannot be faulted in any way. A job well done.

Very god centrally located. Rooms OK. No Safe in room. Small bathroom. Toilet seemed to live its own life making noices in the middle of the night. TV signal had a problem at times. Must be a signal problem as it happened on 2 rooms.

Generally I liked the hotel: the room is really big and clean (carpet without any stains), bathroom is new and clean, staff is helpful and friendly (the bellman took the luggage to the room), the location is very good - in city center, near several restaurants, near shopping mall and very close to metro station. The only complain I have about the room: it seems to be too dark. I would definitely recommend to stay in this hotel for the budget travelers ( just keep in mind that it's not a luxury hotel). I stayed in US in 3 hotels about for same price, in this one was the best

Lots of drawer space. Our card key never failed?we?ve been frustrated elsewhere where keys need to be re-programmed every day. Front desk personnel were personable, pleasant, helpful. Back home we discovered our teen?s iPod charger was left behind, they shipped it cheerfully. Just a block and a half in either direction to the T, world-class shopping and restaurants. Reasonably-priced onsite parking and internet. Want pampering? Stay elsewhere. Want a GREAT LOCATION at great price? (Think motel.) Stay here.

The Midtown has been our choice since our daughter auditioned for NEC. It's convenient to the T and to great restaurants and shopping. Very economical. The staff is always very helpful and friendly.

Newly remodeled; equiv to a super 8; Night staff is rude; days and eve staff VERY NICE! A Little noisy.

The Midtown is reasonably priced, clean and comfortable in a good, safe neighborhood convenient to the T. While in the lobby I overheard the friendly staff offering help and advice to a number of families and international visitors. I recommend the Midtown as a good, no-frills value.

The rate is very good for the location. The hotel is close to Back Bay attractions and in the midst of upscale hotels. There was just little things like the wall light switch not working for any light, and a cheap alarm clock that I wouldn't trust. And what is up with the small TV? Overall, though, I'd go back because you can't get a better rate for that area.

12. From: J. D., Minneapolis MN
 Date of Stay: August, 2006
The location of this hotel was great, but we had lots of problems here. There was a huge cockroach in our room one night that no one seemed to know what to do about. There was a TV program guide for a channel they didn't offer. Our key took at least three tries before working. The internet was not free, as we were lead to believe. For the most part the people were very nice, they did make sure we got a nice room for our long stay, but it just couldn't make up for all the hassle.

My son and I had a short but very pleasant stay. The staff was extremely pleasant and most helpful with directions etc. The room was also very clean-especially the bathroom. It's not fancy but a very good value in the heart of Boston.

 Date of Stay: June, 2006
My daughter and I enjoyed our stay at the Midtown Hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and neat. The hotel was situated in a great location for us and was in walking distance for all we needed or wanted to do - even taking the "T" to various other locations. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

I think that this hotel is a good deal for the price, being in the middle of the city of Boston. Even though I think they could improve some things, in general, the service is great, it's clean and the food in the restaurant is good. The location on its own is one of the "highlights" of the hotel; it's near a T stop, the Prudential Centre, Copley Square, MFA, Colleges, Theater Dsitrict, etc... And for the area it's the best deal you might find. I've been there 3 times already and I like it just fine.
